Breast augmentation (mastopexy) is usually done to give the breasts a more youthful appearance. During the aging process, due to gravity and reduced elasticity, the breast tissue is pulled down, causing the breasts to sag and lose firmness. Such changes can also occur after pregnancy and lactation or after losing a lot of weight. These problems can be solved by lifting the breasts, during which the breasts are lifted, their former position and firmness are restored. Breast augmentation surgery can be combined with breast augmentation surgery or reduction surgery.
Breast augmentation may be relevant when:
- The breasts are flat or oblong;
- One breast is below the other;
- The skin of the breasts is obviously stretched;
- The volume of the breasts does not correspond to the amount of skin covering them.
Before your surgery
Breast augmentation surgery is done after a mammogram (breast ultrasound) and blood tests to make sure there are no complications after the operation.
You should tell your doctor before the operation if you have arterial hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, autoimmune diseases, allergies, blood clotting disorders or other chronic diseases, you smoke, you are taking medicines or food supplements, slimming medicines.
We suggest you visit our preoperative memo page for more information.
The course of the operation
Brest lifting is performed using general anesthesia, the duration of the operation is about 2.5 hours.
During the operation, an anchor-shaped incision or a vertical incision is made from the nipple to the bottom of the breast.
During breast augmentation surgery, the incision not only removes excess skin, but also lifts the halo with the nipple.
If breast augmentation is performed in conjunction with breast augmentation surgery , then the implants are placed under the breast tissue or muscle.
After surgery, patients are discharged the next day, and it is recommended that they return to work no earlier than one week after breast augmentation. After the operation, it is normal to feel pain, tenderness and swelling in the chest - these sensations should disappear after a few weeks. A special bra should be worn for 3 months after the operation, and physical activity should be avoided for the same amount of time.
Breast lifting is not a high-risk operation. However, complications such as bleeding, infection, pain, fluid retention, tissue necrosis, wide scars, nipple numbness, chest hypersensitivity, allergic reactions to anesthesia may occur. All of these complications are usually avoided by following the surgeon's recommendations after surgery.
The risks associated with nasal plastic surgery are increased by smoking, obesity, chronic cardiovascular disease, diabetes, endocrine system diseases, and some other chronic diseases.
Although swelling is likely after surgery, the initial result is visible immediately and the final result is 6-12 months later.
